WINSLOW®® LifeRaft Company - Aviation Service Bulletins
The following are synopsizes of current WINSLOW® Service Bulletins. Contact a WINSLOW® Authorized Service Station or the WINSLOW® Factory Service Department for information on implementing any service bulletin applicable to your life raft. Only WINSLOW® cares enough to make this information readily available to its customers.

  • Service Bulletin 00-4: Y-Fitting Inflation System Inspection
Service Bulletin 00-4 is a mandatory service bulletin that provides instructions for inspection of P/N 20201 'Y-fitting,' a part of the inflation system. This fitting may be damaged due to extreme abuse in handling the life raft. Applies to all life rafts manufactured prior to 01/06/00 and not subsequently modified per SB 00-5 which permanently rescinds this SB. Implement at next regularly scheduled service.
  • Service Bulletin 00-5: Dual Port Inflation System
Service Bulletin 00-5 details inflation system design improvements incorporated into all life rafts manufactured after 01/06/00. Includes parts list and exploded view of installation process. Life rafts manufactured prior to 01/06/00 may be updated to the latest inflation system design using this information.
  • Service Bulletin 00-6: Life Raft Part Numbering
Service Bulletin 00-5 is a mandatory service bulletin that updates the life raft part numbering system for more accurate identification of life raft components, packing, style and survival equipment. All life rafts manufactured prior to September 1999 must have the part number updated in all identification plates and documentation. Implement at next regularly scheduled service.
  • Service Bulletin 00-7: Life Raft Model 46FA-AV(SA) Hard Case Packing
Service Bulletin 00-7 details the Hard Case packing procedures for life raft part number 46FASA-J00-302.
  • Service Bulletin 00-8: Non-emergency Deployment of Life Rafts
Service Bulletin 00-8 is a mandatory service bulletin. It has been noted that many life raft owners have been deploying their life rafts when the inflation cylinder is due for Hydrostatic Testing (at the 5-yea_stepsr interval). Non-emergency deployment of the life raft can be detrimental to the life raft, possibly causing the life raft to be condemned during servicing/overhaul activities. A letter (click to view letter) warns against non-emergency deployment of the life raft and provides immediate action to perform if the life raft is inadvertently deployed so as to minimize possibility of adverse effects to the life raft. A copy of this letter must be included with every life raft serviced in which the cylinder will be due for Hydrostatic Testing during the next service/overhaul cycle.
  • Service Bulletin 00-9: Service Validation Certificates
Service Bulletin 00-9 is a mandatory service bulletin. In order to assure that WINSLOW® life rafts have been serviced by WINSLOW® Approved Service Facilities, a Service Validation Certificate program is implemented as of ????, 2000. This certificate affixed to the life raft (click to view sample) shows proof that the life raft has been service and certified by an WINSLOW® Approved Service Facility. Implement at next regularly scheduled service and all thereafter.
  • Service Bulletin 00-10: Modifications In Life Raft Service Intervals
Service Bulletin 00-10 is a mandatory service bulletin. Due to vendor modified requirements for the servicing of life raft Survival Equipment Package Components, all WINSLOW® FAA TSO Approved aviation life rafts (Model FA-AV( )) manufactured after May 2000 feature an extended initial service interval. These life rafts are serviced two (2) years after the date of manufacture, two (2) years after the first (1st) service, and every year after the second (2nd) service. Implement immediately to all applicable life rafts.
  • Service Bulletin 00-11: Valise Updates
Service Bulletin 00-11 is a mandatory service bulletin. In order to prevent an exposed painter/mooring-inflation line Pull Cord on life rafts manufactured prior to October 1999 from becoming caught on foreign object and causing the life raft to be inadvertently deployed, a Pull Cord Cover is installed on all life rafts with an exposed Pull Cord at the point it exits the valise. Parts required and procedures detailing Pull Cord Cover installation are provided. Implement at next regularly scheduled service.
